This is the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers Australia site, and it provides one of the only Australasian MBA online degree options. The APESMA La Trobe University MBA Programme is reportedly the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. The MBA on offer presently specialises solely in technology management but a generalist MBA is currently in the process of being developed. Fees seem reasonable at $950 per unit and if you are studying from New Zealand you pay the same as if you were in Australia (which is less than the full international student rate). The site says there is a community of 2000 active students at present. |
Now in its fifth year of operation, MBA Connect' is an 'intelligent clearing house service' which provides potential students with a method of receiving MBA Program information from the Australian participating providers which best meet their individual needs. After filling in a form at http://www.mbasolutions.com.au, the information provided is analysed and forwarded to the universities that fit the student's needs. These universities then send out their information packages to the student. |
The website of the New Zealand MBA Association www.mba.org.nz gives useful summaries of the offerings of the nine business schools in New Zealand together with links. It is a bit out of date however and the links don’t necessarily take you straight to the MBA offerings of the various institutions. Once you have found your way to the various MBA courses, it’s a tad concerning to find some of them woefully out of date – with information up to two and three years old. One would have to question the management skills of learning institutions that can’t keep their websites relatively current. |
This is the online education homepage for the University of Phoenix in the US, one of the main providers, it seems, of online university degrees for post graduate business playing host to 29,000 students across its online campus. Besides a generalist MBA you can also specialise in accounting, e-business, global management, healthcare management and technology management. If you’re an international student the university will consider your application free of charge (there’s usually an application fee). The fee works on an online connect time principle of US$505 per hour. It’s expected that you’d usually use one to two online hours per month. |
